It’s a real case of grab it while you can: $49 flights from the U.S. to Europe on WOW Airlines, in a sale that ends Friday night or when the tickets are gone.
The tickets are for travel between Jan. 21 and March 11, and routes include flights from Boston, Baltimore/Washington, New York/Newark and Detroit to Reykjavik, Dublin Brussels, Frankfurt and London. Although the $49 price is only on the eastbound flights, they are only available when booked as part of a roundtrip; prices for the return will vary, but will be higher. There are also added fees for checked bags, etc.
WOW, which expanded rapidly for the past two or three years has sharply curtailed its North American cities and has reduced its fleet size as it negotiates for new investment to keep flying; the fare sale may reflect a need to keep up a brave face as well as take in some short-term cash.
The airline’s announcement includes terms: “Flights from Boston (BOS), Washington DC (BWI), New York (EWR) and Detroit (DTW) to Reykjavik (KEF), Dublin (DUB), Brussels (BRU), Frankfurt (FRA) and London (LGW). Based on lowest one-way WOW basic fare booked on www.wowair.us. Includes all taxes, fees and carrier charges. Available for travel 21 January through 11 March, 2019. The offer applies for 1000 seats on selected flights, only when booking round trip flights. Subject to availability. Restrictions and baggage fees apply.
