Amelia Island is in northeast Florida. It’s home to a lot of music, culinary and literary events and the auto charity event, The Amelia Island Concours d’Elegance, that’s held every March. The barrier island’s main attraction, though, is its 13 miles of beaches and wildlife which draw visitors back year after year.
The area was first inhabited by the Timuncan Native American tribe. Amelia Island has had the flags of eight nations flown over it over since 1562, the most in the country.
