Easter in a Palace: Istanbul’s Fairytale Easter

Last year I had the privilege of staying at the regal 5-star hotel, Ciragan Palace Kempinski in Istanbul. The property is the only Ottoman Imperial Palace and Hotel on the Bosphorus that once hosted sultans; its history dates to the 17th century.

“After a complete restoration and with the addition of a modern hotel building including elegant rooms, restaurants and meeting venues, the hotel reopened in 1991,” hotel literature says. “Since its opening, the royal-born continues to be the symbol of luxury and impeccable service combined with legendary Turkish hospitality.”

Now imagine celebrating Easter in this palace of crystal, gold and marble.

A special Easter Package even includes an Easter egg hunt. Children staying at the hotel during Easter can participate in a palace-wide Easter egg hunt including Easter egg painting, photos with the Easter Bunny and a chocolate bunny giveaway.

For the adults there’s also plenty to celebrate.

Easter Brunch will take place at the Laledan Restaurant with a view of the Bosphorus. The brunch always features nearly 300 menu items (80 percent organic), but on Easter, the meal will be elevated with new egg and pastry offerings including quail eggs and caviar, egg farce mayonnaise, chocolate bunny pastries, Easter napoleons, exotic fruit tarts, nougat filled chocolate eggs, egg custard and a cinnamon Easter wreath.

The Afternoon Tea at Gazebo Lounge also offers stunning view of the Bosphorus. Guests will enjoy an array of high tea sandwiches, hot bites and special edition pastries including spiced Easter scones, mini chocolate afternoon tea eclairs, Easter baklava with rose and strawberry bagatelle.

Just imagine guests dressed in their finest surrounded by the opulence of a time gone by enjoying family and friends during the Easter season. Imagine Ciragan Palace Kempinski.
