My husband and I saw this cute little NYPD Smart Car while walking around Manhattan. Apparently these two-seat Smart Fortwos have taken the place of three-wheeled scooters that for decades have had their own peculiar place in the city’s vast fleet of otherwise muscular police vehicles. I enjoyed seeing it and wanted to share.
Desert View Watchtower, Grand Canyon National Park, Arizona
A visit to the Desert View Watchtower on the eastern portion of the Grand Canyon’s South Rim. Constructed in the 1930s, it offers magnificent canyon views and a tie to the Native American history of the Canyon.
Neither of those situations is a concern; the Smart Cars are used to get officers to minor incidents including traffic situations and to patrol areas around schools and so forth. There are still larger cars for other purposes, mostly at this point Chevy Impalas. The big Crown Vics are gone.
Think of the movie The Italian Job. Either version…
I am curious where they stow an arrested violent person en route to the police station? And would love to see that Smart Care chase a muscle car in a high speed pursuit.
Still, the image of a Smart Car chasing the Dukes of Hazzard GTO has some appeal.
