Slovenia is looking for serious walkers and more visitors with its new long-distance hiking trail that offers a 16-day, 186-mile scenic trek.
The Julian Alps Hiking Trail, largely assembled by connecting dozens of existing trailways, The route is a ring that passes through the country’s highest peaks, in Triglavski National Park and remote villages, as well as such cities as Bled, Bovec and Radovljica.
But don’t set off for the trail just yet: Workers are still out there putting up some of the trail markings, the official map won’t be out until June, and it will take Google Maps a little while to catch up.
