It’s not that American Airlines doesn’t think you want to know when your flight is delayed or changing gates, or which carousel your bags are going to—it’s just that phone calls are SO last century.
From now on, American has announced, its BeNotified flight alert system will stick to texts and email to let you know what you need to know; it’s hear from travelers that they hate having the phone ring while their hands are full or they’re going through security at the airport.
The airline reached out to its customers who were signed up for phone alerts to let them know of the change and the options. The notice went out by email.
