Lindblad Expeditions, a leading expedition cruising company that jointly operates a fleet with National Geographic, has said that it will achieve its 2019 goal of becoming carbon-neutral.
Lindblad’s eight NatGeo ships and five others it operates have been working to make their own operations as free as possible of greenhouse gases, and to ensure that company offices and travel are planned to reduce carbon production.
To offset the carbon that can’t be eliminated, the company has invested in companies whose operations reduce carbons overall by producing wind or solar energy, reforestation and more—enough to reduce the company’s carbon impact to zero
