September 7, 2019: A Humble Man’s Place to Pray, Krakow

St. Francis Basilica, a lovely Gothic church, was the home church to Pope John Paul II when he was archbishop of Krakow.

Situated in the second row from the back of the church’s long nave you’ll find a plaque labeled, “Jan Pawel II”.  It was at this spot that Pope John Paul II (known in Polish as Jan Pawel II) liked to fall on his knees to pray.

It was pleasing and reaffirming to know that this important and influential man, who could have prayed anywhere he wanted, choose a modest, almost anonymous spot, to talk to his God.
