Food tours, based on markets and restaurants, have been a growing thing in recent years but nearly all of them have been for omnivores; if you’ve been on one with a vegetarian you’ll likely have noticed how much they’ve missed.
But that’s changing, now, according to The Guardian (UK) which has collected a list of vegetarian and vegan food tours all across Europe, and had staff members sample many of them. In some cases, it’s surprising how many of the traditional foods—including German beers—are vegan-friendly.
The blooming of this niche of the business shouldn’t be too surprising, with both the number of vegans and vegetarians growing in most countries, and the matching growth of restaurants serving plant-based cuisine, or adding plant-based options to their menus.
