One of LA’s iconic sites is Randy’s Donuts near LAX. It was built in 1953 and was the second of ten locations of the Big Donut Drive-In chain. Five are still left. The donut shops were designed by Henry J. Goodwin for Russell C. Wendell.

A visit to the Desert View Watchtower on the eastern portion of the Grand Canyon’s South Rim. Constructed in the 1930s, it offers magnificent canyon views and a tie to the Native American history of the Canyon.
