Between Nintendo theme parks and Atari Hotels, electronic games are getting a lot of play these days (pun intended). Here’s one more: Nintendo is opening pop-up game lounges in a series of airports.
The first opened last week at Dallas Love Field, and the next wave wave will open tomorrow at Washington Dulles, Sea-Tac and Chicago O’Hare, featuring charging ports, demo versions of new Nintendo Switch games in both handheld and TV mode. And there will be brand-marked freebies like luggage handles.
Visitors will not only be able to play the games, they will receive coupons good for $10 off on $75 or up of Nintendo Switch merchandise at Target or online. The popups will stay open through March; more may appear later.
