With International Women’s Day coming up this weekend, a Canadian tourism development company has put a spotlight on women emerging as leaders in the tourism industry.
The company is highlighting “Eight Fearless Women Championing Communities Through Tourism” in Canada. Each is highlighted in a short piece about their work and how they interact with their communities. You can read their stories HERE.
A recent report by the UN World Tourism Organization pointed out that while women make up the majority of people employed in the industry, they are still largely “concentrated in low-level employment” and make nearly 15% less than men for similar positions.
