With most airlines down to single-digit percentages of their normal operations, airlines have some time for maintenance and for introducing small, but welcome changes that you’ll mostly notice later.
American Airlines, which this week cut its New York daily flights down to 13 from nearly 300, has been shuffling planes, retiring some and upgrading some newer ones, and is also introducing new amenity icons to its webpage to let you know whether you’ll have an outlet, a seatback screen, USB port, music streaming, and more.
Previously, most of that information was either unavailable, or had to be gleaned from other sites such as SeatGuru or GoogleFlights. For now, the small icons appear only during the booking process, but will eventually find their way into AA’s app and the flight status page on the website.
