After 6 weeks of lockdown in England it’s time to look in my own garden for pictures. This variety of apple tree is named “Katy”. Bred in Sweden for cool summers. Perfect for here in Liverpool too. The first week in May it gets white apple blossoms. Then hopefully the bees get to do their work before 50 mph winds blow it all away. This year looks like a bumper crop of apples. Last year was windy with only 9 apples on the whole tree! Within a week of pollination, tiny apples appear in my first photo. Ready to pick in late August.
