The arboretum on Irving land has more than 5000 trees and shrubs and is very well maintained. It is on the Mascogne River and is part of a system of trails that connects downtown with the Bouctouche dunes.
Industrialist Kenneth Colin Irving, from Bouchtouche, founded Irving Group of Companies and it’s still held by his family. Some of Irving’s businesses, including Kent Homes, maintain operations there and the family is dedicated to supporting the town.
On the Arboretum is Irving Memorial Chapel. It was completed in 2005 and is a replica of a Scottish Kirk.
Bouchtouche may be small, under 3000 people, but it takes a good 2 or 3 days to see the sites. I was very impressed and am excited for future visits.
