Erected in 1790, this sundial and stocks still stand on the Village Green in Thornton. The stocks were in demand for drunks and debtors. Fortunately they are no longer in use—the long line waiting their turn for punishment would surround the Village. Does it remind you of a long-haul flight with no leg room maybe?
Desert View Watchtower, Grand Canyon National Park, Arizona
A visit to the Desert View Watchtower on the eastern portion of the Grand Canyon’s South Rim. Constructed in the 1930s, it offers magnificent canyon views and a tie to the Native American history of the Canyon.
