St. Peter’s and St. Paul’s Roman Catholic Church is located on the north shore of the Miramichi River at the mouth of the Bartibog River in Bartibog Bridge , New Brunswick. Canada.
It’s a unique wood framed church and you can see the blended Neo-Classical and Gothic design elements. It has been contended that built builder-architect William Murray built it or had a hand in it’s finishing. Murray is famous for his craftsmanship in other New Brunswick buildings The Church was blessed in 1853, by the Bishop of St John. Before that it was used as a parrish church.
The adjacent parish cemetery pre-dates the church and shows it was a Roman Catholic mission-base for the Miramichi region.
We visited after a storm and the sky was just as incredible as the church.
