13 Bad Tips For The Perfect Autotrip

(content by Susy R)

Planning the perfect trip is easy. – There is a wagon and a small cart of articles on this topic. Just take and read them. But would life be so interesting if there were no place for mistakes and miscalculations in it? Do you feel tired of travel predictability? Then here are some bad tips that can turn any road trip into a rich, memorable adventure that will leave you without money and mood.

Planning

1.  Never plan a route in advance. Especially if you have a limited travel time – a week or two. Time is a wagon, along the way you will figure out where and why to go. Timing is for fools. If you passed the dmv practical permit test perfectly well and feel yourself on the road like a fish in the water, you definitely don’t need qualified help.

Do not use the Google Earth program, mark points and export them to the MAPS.ME navigation program on your smartphone. Prioritizing attractions is just a waste of time.

2.  Do not read specialized forums, there is little useful. Be a pioneer! You never know where people have already been – your experience is priceless!

3.  You should not find out in advance about the features of traffic rules and the rules for importing cars into the country where you are going. Believe me, everything is the same everywhere. And if any problems arise at the border – defend your position, the police and border guards are wrong.

4.  Expect to drive 1000 kilometers a day – you will get there faster. Only inexperienced travelers plan a daily mileage of no more than 600 km, and with stops for sightseeing along the way – 250-300 km.

5.  Always choose the largest city in the country for spending the night – it is always more convenient to stay in civilization. And it is best to call in at the end of a tiring day on the road in the evening, at 17-18 hours, when there are least traffic jams in the city. It’s great to drive around the narrow streets at the end of the day looking for the right address! Romance!

Training

6.  Do not take cash on the road – now the 21st century is in the yard and everywhere you can pay with a card. And if it is not possible, then in any village there are ATMs – you can remove them.

7.  Put all your belongings in one big heavy bag – everything will come in handy. Weaklings, who are not able to take a suitcase out of the trunk every evening and drag it up the stairs to a room or apartment, put the most necessary things in the evening and in the morning in a small bag, which they take with them.

8.  It is not necessary to print a route sheet with addresses, maps and contacts of housing – the 21st century, again, why waste paper. Smartphones and tablets – the technique is reliable and never fails at the most crucial moment.

9.  Do not take a cable, a supply of liquids and all sorts of consumables, such as light bulbs  with you. Other drivers on the road have everything in bulk and you can ask them.

10.  Do not take entertainment for children on the road – it will be very interesting for them just to look out the window! There is no need to pamper them with all sorts of reading rooms, cartoons on tablets, games and audio fairy tales.

Journey

11.  Why take hotels for the night when you can sleep in the car well? Savings really works! Only old people infirm travelers love to lie on the crib, spread their bones and get enough sleep. But young ones don’t need this – fatigue never accumulates and does not affect driving the next day.

12.  Do not wear seat belts if you are only 50 meters away. And ignore the police that especially closely watch the visitors in tourist places.

13.  Always trust the navigator – technology will not deceive, I have already spoken about this. Although it sometimes happens when the navigator offers to jump off the roundabout, go in the opposite lane or wade across the river. But this is not scary and only adds courage to a wonderful trip!
