Festivals celebrating fall and the harvest are popular, at least in North America, though I imagine it’s the case around the planet.
My wife and I visited Green Bluff, a fruit growing area close to our home in Spokane, a few weeks ago. You can pick an assortment of fruit throughout the summer in Green Bluff — cherries, strawberries, apricots, peaches, etc. In the fall attention focuses to apple picking, pressing cider, and gathering pumpkins for Halloween, and it seems this is the most popular time for visitors to come here.
This is especially a popular time for familes, who come to enjoy kiddie rides, an assortment of tasty food and drink, corn mazes, pony rides, and time for relaxing and fun. And, of course, for picking that perfect pumpkin for carving.
