Late last month we decided to take advantage of the fall-like weather and finally did the Peak to Peak Highway. It was amazing and we were able to see so much beauty. The yellow trees were so phenomenal and when the light hit them a certain way, they look illuminated. The pictures below don’t do them justice, but they were beautiful.
For those that don’t know about the Peak to Peak Highway, it’s a Colorado scenic byway and was actually the first in the state. It begins as CO Highway 7 in Estes Park, passes Lily Mountain and Twin Sisters, then turns south just past Allenspark on CO Highway 72, goes to Nederland where it continues south on CO Highway 119, through Blackhawk, through Clear Creek Canyon and down to I-70.
It can take 3 hours if you like to stop and take some pictures, or just enjoy the scenery. We brought a lunch and set out by Lily Lake for a while. It was a beautiful day and so glad we finally did this trail. Definitely worth the time.
Fall in Colorado is magical! Thanks for these!!
Will be on my list for a future road trip! Thanks!
