When we visited the UNESCO World Heritage city of Agrigento, located on Sicily’s south coast, my wife and I decied to splurge on a second story suite at Villa Athena, famous for its views of the Valley of Temples.
Especially visible from our room was the the Concord Temple. It was built around 430 BC and is one of the best-preserved Greek Doric Temples anywhere. A photo of the Concord Temple was featured in last weekend’s One Clue Mystery photo, which was recognized by Professor Abe and George G — congratulations!
We enjoyed sitting on our balcony and watching the changing light on the Temple as day transitioned into night. The blooming almond trees in the foreground were just a bonus to the scenic view.
