American Airlines is giving its AAdvantage loyalty members a Christmas present, tied to a big-ticket drawing, and ever-so-cleverly connected to buying more tickets.
AAdvantage members got emails earlier this week asking them to go online and register and find what their gift is. At the minimum, it’s 100 points and an entry into a January sweepstakes for 500,000 miles and a vacation package. For travelers with more ‘status’ the gifts include items like Admirals’ Club passes, upgrades, and other bonuses.
Attached to the promotion comes an offer for double miles on flights booked for travel on or after January 1, 2021 and continuing through February 28, 2022.
The gift and offer are also available to non-members who join by December 16.
