The Cub Creek petroglyphs are in the Utah section of Dinosaur National Monument. There are many petroglyphs in the region, these are among the most interesting.
The Fremont people, who lived here over a thousand years ago, left this art chipped or carved into the rock. Some of the patterns are easily recognizable, like the bighorn sheep above, but it would be interesting to know what inspired some of the more unusual patterns. Perhaps something extraterrestial??? A stab at abstract art?? We’ll never know.
