India’s Ranthambore National Park is one of the biggest and most renowned national parks in Northern India. Best known as a tiger reserve, there are also more than 40 other species of mammals, 320 species of birds, and more than 40 species of reptiles.
There are less than 4,000 tigers left in the wild worldwide. The goal of visitors is to find the elusive cats. I was fortunate to see a tiger as it stalked sambar deer as well as a menagerie of colorful birds, spotted deer, swamp crocodiles, and monkeys.
The park, located about 60 miles from Jaipur, was once a famous hunting grounds of the Maharajas of Jaipur. Today the national park terrain draws nature lovers, conservationists, and nature photographers from around the world.
