The Pier Head, Liverpool

Between 1830 and 1930 over 9 million European emigrants sailed from this Liverpool Dock for a better life in the New World. On the left of the photo is “The Floating Landing Stage” to accommodate the 20 foot tides we get in Liverpool. 24 hour passenger access to shipping. Thousands of US and Canadian troops came into Europe using this bridge. This photo was taken one hour before 2021, London Time GMT.
