NCIS New Orleans “Tru Tone Bar”

Due to the stupid coronavirus, my husband and I had to use some flight vouchers from several cancelled trips before they expired at the end of January. Thus we decided to go and check out New Orleans during Carnival. Of course there wasn’t much going on (no Mardi Gras this year), but we still enjoyed walking around and listening to some music.

We are fans of NCIS New Orleans and were staying not too far from Pride’s Tru Tone Bar in the French Market. We walked over to check it out and were a little surprised and disappointed. First of all, the windows were all boarded up, and secondly they weren’t open due to the stupid virus. We had thought it would be fun to go inside and order a drink (since most bars didn’t allow you to sit inside) and sit outside for a while. Sadly we just took a few pictures and hoped it will be back open when we visit in October.

Anyway, the real name of the bar is Royal Street Inn Bar or R Bar for short. It is located at 1431 Royal Street and usually open from Mon-Thursday 3pm to 3 am, Friday 3pm to 5 am, Saturday Noon to 5am and Sunday Noon to 3am. Hope to visit again in the future..
