Irish carrier Aer Lingus is planning flights from its new Manchester base to the Caribbean, with flights to Barbados starting October 20. Earlier reports, based on statements by Antigua’s tourism minister identified Antigua as the likely first Caribbean destination from Manchester.
Aer Lingus’s plans for its new Manchester base, designed to build business from northern England, also include flights starting in July between Manchester and New York and Manchester and Orlando. Boston will be added in 2022. The destinations are all also served from Dublin.
Aer Lingus, part of the IAG group that also includes British Air, Iberia, Vueling and Air Europa, has been developing a Manchester base to tap potential travelers from northern England.
