Your Dog at the Museum

Well, maybe not your dog, but that’s the title of this fiberglass sculpture at Boston’s Museum of Fine Arts, where it stands guard faithfully in the atrium, just behind the coffee counter.

It’s the work of Japanese-American artist Yoshitomo Nara, who gently connects two cultures with this friendly family canine that’s modeled on the concept of the large ‘lion dogs’ that guard Shinto shrines in Japan.
