There’s a lot to see from the 103rd floor observation platforms at Skydeck Chicago, but now there’s a lot more to see inside before visitors even step out onto the four glass-lined terraces above the city.
Visitors to the attraction, which is at the Willis Tower, once the Sears Tower, get a start on a lower floor with an immersive, Chicago-themed museum in advance of the elevator ride to the highest observation deck in the U.S. The exhibit traces Chicago history, from the Chicago Fire to city legends. The large images will also be good selfie material.
Sections in the museum include Origins, Architecture, Taste of Chicago, Characters and Streetscapes. Among the interactive features are a panorama of the city seen through the windows of a full-scale L train replica, and a chance to tell jokes on a recreation of the stage at Second City.
