Almost every country has some list of beautiful towns and villages; in some it’s a major competition, but Spain’s tourism agency Turespaña has gone a step further with a list of the country’s most beautiful streets to stroll down.
The selection, ranging from city boulevards to small alleyways in out-of-the-way places is meant to encourage callejear—wandering with no purpose but to enjoy and experience. It’s an idea that echoes in other languages as well (and one of my own favorite ways to enjoy travel).
TheLocal.es has a photo gallery of the selected streets.
