Mallard Park, Petersfield, Manitoba

When residents of Petersfield were deciding on a symbol for their village (nearing 100 years old), they picked the mallard duck.  Petersfield is located in Manitoba’s Interlake Region, where ducks (and especially mallards) are very common.

The statue was installed in 1996 and refurbished in 2005.  Nothing too flashy, but a nice likeness of a male mallard taking flight.
