Over the past few years I’ve started to go “barn hunting” when traveling and time allows. There are lots of old barns and sheds on the many farms in America, a number of them showing “elegant decay”, especially on abandoned farmsites.
While driving north of Calgary just a few weeks ago I came across this old barn and shed. Most of the snow had melted, although there was still a dusting of snow left on the sun-sheltered side of the roof. Roof tiles are coming off and the roofs were sagging. These structures are likely only a few decades away from total collapse.
