Yes, until their extinction Philly’s famous Spitting Turtles were a world-wide attraction. Every year thousands of yellow-slicker clad tourists would flock to their Philadelphia habitats. The comedian Gallagher credits the Spitting Turtles with inspiring his prop comedy act and the study of the turtles evolved into the field of Phlemology.
