Chase plans to open airport lounges

Chase is following one of its top rivals, American Express, right into the airports by opening the first of a series of airport lounges for its cardmembers. American Express has opened numbers of ‘Centurion’ lounges in the past few years.

Like Amex’s and those run by various airlines, access to the lounges will be free for holders of specific Chase cards, with more access available for those with the more ‘elite’ cards, such as the Chase Sapphire Reserve. The Chase lounges will be operated by a company that runs numbers of other lounges, and they will also be accessible to passengers holding the Priority Pass lounge card.

The first three Chase lounges will be in New York in the new LaGuardia Terminal B, between Terminals B and C at Boston Logan, and in Terminal 1 of Hong Kong International Airport. Although these are the first airport lounges, Chase has opened pop-up lounges at major sports and fashion events; the image above shows one at Pier 17 in New York.
