Inspired by the CowParade in Chicago, this project named “Les Sentinelles” (The Sentinels) was inaugurated in September 2020 during the annual Festival des Arts Visuels en Atlantique. (Atlantic Visual Arts Festival).
The project consisted of having 8 artists each paint a fiberglass seagull with their own inspiration.
The finished “sentinelles” were then installed here and there on the site of Le Carrefour de la Mer where they keep an eye on the surroundings while visitors can appreciate their splendor. They are only put up in summer.
