One of Costa Rica’s principle crops is pineapples, second in cash value only to the banana crop. The main market for these pineapples is the USA.
When you drive through the countryside, you’ll often see large pineapple fields like this one, especially at lower altitudes.
Pineapples were quite small yet at the time we visited, as you can see from the above photo. But they are delicious when ripe.

A visit to the Desert View Watchtower on the eastern portion of the Grand Canyon’s South Rim. Constructed in the 1930s, it offers magnificent canyon views and a tie to the Native American history of the Canyon.
