There’s nothing like a morning at a park with your granddaughter. So, on a recent Saturday, we set out for Martin Creek Lake State Park near Tatus, Texas. We chose a trail circling an island in the lake. There were lots of wildflowers with butterflies, honey bees, and dragonflies hovering along the pathway.
We were deep in the woods when a massive water snack slithered across the path in front of us. It was about six-foot-long. Ainsley didn’t see it as it zipped through the undergrowth and disappeared. We stepped very cautiously after that.
After our hike, Ainsley played at the playground before we headed home. It was another delightful day in the arms of Mother Nature.
Sounds like an absolutely perfect day!
Your granddaughter is a doll. And lucky to have a grandma who takes her to so many places.
