While wandering the streets of San Jose, my wife and I came across an interesting piece of street art on Central Avenue. It’s a bronze of a well-nourished woman named “La Chola”. She stands just over 2 meters tall, weighs about 500 kilos, wears sandals and proudly holds her head high.
It seems this statue is beloved by locals who commonly slap or rub La Chola’s backside as a sign of good luck.
