While visiting the beautiful state of Michigan, we were driving back to Detroit from the Upper Peninsula and decided to stop in Ann Arbor and see the Alma Mater of our former pastor, the University of Michigan. Don’t know much about the school per se, but I learned it was founded in 1817 in Detroit even before Michigan became a state in January 1837. We also learned that it IS large. There are more than 584 major buildings and 780 acres of campus. We only saw a little bit, but had to stop and take a few pictures to share here on TravelGumbo and to say hi to our former pastor. Hope you enjoy these pictures.
