Iceland has fun with Facebook re-branding

Iceland, which has often used humor in its tourism promotions and poked fun at others has done both with its new video ad gently promoting its own features and mocking Facebook’s Mark Zuckerberg’s performance announcing his company’s new name.

In the video, “Zack Mossbergsson,” who has an uncanny resemblance to Zuckerberg, rebrands the country as the “Icelandverse,” a place where you can experience “enhanced actual reality without silly-looking headsets,” and where there is “water that’s wet” and “humans to connect with.”

It’s smart marketing: the video has gotten huge distribution at very little cost because it’s gone viral with many viewers sharing it widely…like right here!
