Downtown in Rainy Seattle

We had a wonderful time on our last trip to Seattle even though we were still treated like crap at security even though we paid for TSA pre-check. Sadly that’s a different issue, for a different post, lol.

As I said, we did have a good time even though it rained most of the time we were there.  We stayed at the Hyatt House in downtown and took advantage of the free shuttle which took guests to various spots in downtown within a mile of the hotel.  Today I wanted to share some of these pictures we took while exploring the area.

Central Library - SeattleWe spent some time checking out some of the amazing architecture of the buildings in downtown Seattle like the Central Public Library, the Seattle Art Museum, and the Smith Tower. There were many more that we saw while walking around downtown, but can’t recall their name. Even though I didn’t know their names, I loved seeing them while we were strolling around.

Rachel the Pig - UsWe also walked around Pikes Market Place and saw Rachel the Pig. and the Theatre Gum Wall. My husband Gene got another kick out of watching the guys throw fish around. I really don’t get the appeal, but other people seemed to love it as well, so I must just not get it, lol.

Gum WallOne of the only structured or planned events we did while in downtown Seattle was the Underground tour.  I am doing to do a post on it in the future but wanted to share a picture from our tour. It was a blast and I highly suggest it if you are in the area. It is historical and quite funny at times. Here is a picture of us during our tour.

Underground Tour - UsI also enjoyed seeing all the amazing art sculptures around the city, many on the grounds of the Space Needle itself. We saw a few of those, but most of these pictures are again from walking in downtown Seattle. It was quite a different feeling from previous trips where we were just running from one attraction to another attraction or event. It was nice to just peacefully take in the city and enjoyed why it’s called the Emerald City. Hope you enjoy the pictures.

The View North

I was visiting a friend, and this was the view from their house. I could understand why they built their house facing this direction. I was taken by the beauty!
