I spotted this peak while on a flight over one of the world’s largest non-polar ice fields a few years back. It’s a large mountain peak that towers above its neighbors, and I believe this to be Mt Logan — elevation 5959 m (19,551 ft). It’s Canada’s highest mountain, only slightly shorter than Mt. Denali in Alaska.
Mt. Logan is situated in the Yukon Territory’s St Elias Mountains and is one of the world’s most massive mountain blocks, having the largest base circumference of any non-volcanic mountain on the planet. It was first climbed in 1925 by a joint Canada-USA expedition. It’s the source of the Hubbard and Logan glaciers.
Mt Logan is very remote and can only be reached or seen by air. Even mountain climbers fly to its base before attempting to ascend it.
