Arriving in Seattle on the ferry.
Growing up in California, always traveling by car, deprived of the simple joy of public transportation, shaped my preferences for life in that regard. I still remember my first bus ride, with Ginny Minster when we were 11, my adventurous friend who knew how get us to downtown Berkeley to see ‘Giant’. It was a revelation but not an experience that would be repeated until I was in college in San Francisco, parked my car and used the streetcar. Now, the adventure of travel for me is as much learning how to get where I want to go as the places themselves. So this day in late October, half the fun was getting to Seattle on the ferry from Bremerton, then back again.
Loading up & leaving Seattle.
