These photos was taken from the 7th (top) floor of the Marriott Airport Hotel, located in the terminal of Calgary International Airport.
I usually don’t like to stay in hotels located by an airport because the noise of planes taking off can disturb one’s sleep. The Calgary Airport Marriott is a new hotel and the rooms were surprisingly well sound-proofed — the plane noise was very subdued and I didn’t even need my ear plugs to get a good nice sleep.
An enjoyable part of this stay was being able to watch the flow of air travel into and out of the airport. YYC is located about a dozen miles northwest of downtown Calgary. If you look carefully at the photos, you can see the distant Rocky Mountains shrouded by their evening cloud layer in the top right of the photos.
