TheWilliam H. McGuffey Primary Schoolbuilt in 1915thenwas repurposed in1973 as theMcGuffy Art Centerin Charlottesville, Virginia. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2009and is now divided into a number of studios where artists create and sell their paintings and sculptures.
Many works are on display in the corridors and within the many studios. You can browse theartwork and stop in any of the open studios and talk to the many artists.
TheMcGuffy Art Centeris locatedat201 2nd St NW. Entry is free of charge. Many of the street parking spaces are time limited but there are some spaces in the rear reserved for visitors and artists.
The Center is located one block from the Historic Charlottesville Downtown Mall area with many eateries and shops.
