My wife, Sylvia, has a soft heart for animals and has collected many of them over the years. Her newest pet is Elton, whom she purchased when he was a newborn foal about a year ago.
Elton is a saddlebred horse and his sire is a champion. He’s a cute fellow, very bright and personable, who loves carrots and attention. And he’s developing a nice stride. His trainer thinks he will be a 5-gaited horse, which I don’t fully understand, but which I think is a good thing. He already has a lovely trot and will begin training in a few months.
He lives on a nice farm in eastern Washington state, not too far from us.
And yes, he is named after one of Sylvia’s favorite singers, Elton John.
