One of the benefits of working on this website is that I find myself looking at things more closely than I used to. Such is the case with dogwood trees.
Dogwoods have interested me because they are both a tree and a flower. I had always thought they only presented white blossoms, but recently I came across pink dogwoods. I know this is not a novel finding, but it was new to me. These are very beautiful trees, as you can see for yourself.
Pink dogwoods bloom for 2-4 weeks every spring. The green foliage turns purple in the fall. The grow about a foot a year. These samples were spotted in Sandpoint, Idaho.
My wife and I have ordered several pink dogwoods for our new property. I’ll let you know how that turns out.
Beautiful! I also had only ever encountered the white variety. I shall look round to see whether I can source a pink-flowering one over here.
