I usually think of Spring as the season when everything turns green again, but a short stop at Staten Island’s Van Briesen Park joyfully reminded me that green is not the only featured color of the season.
The park itself is not large, but it adjoins the Fort Wadsworth section of the Gateway National Recreation Area, so it seems bigger. And, at its edge, there are not only views of New York harbor below, but also of the Verrazzano Bridge.
