TSA is slowly spreading its plan to boost PreCheck enrollment using mobile carts in airports, with Gulfport-Biloxi to be added in June, with the promise of more to come.
The program, working with contractor IDEMIA, sends the carts out to security and gate areas to sign travelers up for the program that allows passengers to remove less and move faster through airport security. Travelers who sign up at the airport can expect to receive their clearance and Known Traveler number within a few days.
The mobile signup system was first tried in Jackson, Mississippi in March and at Louisville in May. Mobile events are scheduled in June for Nashville, and Austin, Texas. Several hundred people signed up during the first events.
