I came across this great old truck while driving around the backroads of Western Montana. It’s a great old Mack truck — a workhorse of a vehicle!
The Mack B series of trucks was produced between 1953 and 1966. The B-series was designed with a sloped windshield and larger, rounded fenders, and introduced the Thermodyne diesel engine (this particular model having an 11.0 L engine). The line was sold in multiple configurations, including fire trucks, delivery vehicles and buses.
A total of 126,745 B-series trucks were produced over 13 years — roughly 800 vehicles a month. I’m not sure how many survive, but probably not many. I was glad to see this one.
